2025 Cohort Testimonials
“This program has really helped me better understand how and where I can be most impactful in my global health philanthropy. Through dedicated sessions with experts at the Gates Foundation, an immersive trip to Ethiopia and learning sessions with leading philanthropists in global health, I have started to better understand the key issues, underlying systems and most effective interventions. This is by far the best learning journey I have been on” Aleem Jivraj, Singapore.
“This program has helped me tremendously in bringing clarity and shaping my philanthropic strategy. We had a the opportunity to interact with experts and partners in the field, in addition to all the insights and lessons other participants shared. The group of philanthropists we had the privilege to meet in this cohort was extraordinary, and we have built relationships that will continue after the program is over. Joining as a couple allowed us to surface differences in preferences and opinions we had on certain strategic decisions, and strengthened our commitment to tackle these problems together, by leveraging our different skill sets. The program has accelerated my understanding of key problems and solutions in the global health space, as well as given me a network and resources to tap into, as I move from strategy to execution in the months to come.” Andrea La Mesa, Italy.
“The Innovations in Global Health programme is excellently curated by Jo Ensor and The Gates Foundation. I gained valuable insights into maternal and child health, the intersection between climate and health, nutrition, and the strategic role philanthropy can play in addressing these issues. I met remarkable peer philanthropists and people working in this space, who generously shared their successes, their struggles and lessons learned. Their openness illuminated how essential collaboration is in tackling complex global health challenges. It deepened my sense of purpose and inspired me to think critically about my role as a philanthropist in global health. I now see how working together and finding the right partners can create transformative change in people's lives. The programme equipped me with the tools, connections, and inspiration to become a more strategic philanthropist in this space.” Elisabeth Rees, Sweden.
“I can’t think of enough great words to say about this programme. It has transformed my strategic thinking, and the way I approach my philanthropy. I whole-heartedly recommend this course to anyone wishing to develop their philanthropy development, learning, expertise and strategy.” Vicky Wolfe, UK.
